In my truck i have put a 350 and a 700R4 overdrive automatic combo and right now i dont have the right type of shifter in it. I have bought a B&M Console Megashifter with the cable to go to the transmission. One problem, when i tried to shift it, all the cable would do was torque and would not shift. do i need a different hook up to my transmission or what?

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 10 Member | | Member Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 10 | Does your cable between your shifter and the tranny need to be clamped to make it more rigid and less flexable.Or make a bracket for your tranny that would give more leverage therefor it would be easier for your cable to shift the tranny. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 36 Member | | Member Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 36 | Check to make sure that the tranny and shifter are in sync. What I mean is, make sure that the tranny is in park, the shifter is in park, and then tighten down the cable. It does help to have the cable tied off in a few places, and keep sharp bends to a minimum.
If you still have problems, just call B&M tech, I have found them very helpful.
