It ran at the Bonneville Salt Flats last October. btw, sweet pic, but i wasn't planning on using a roots blower for the compressor, i have one of those on my daily driver, i had something else i mind for this.

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 29 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 29 | sleeper, and cheaper. with the mechanical pump, it can easily be boost referenced. with an electric pump, i would need a boost referenced adjustable fuel pressure regulator. the elec. pump and regulator are expensive (read: a couple hundred bucks!) an mechanical pump is a lot cheaper.

You probably don't want to run too much tension on the harmonic balancer. Some people fabricate an external bearing.
I've been thinking about doing a turbocharger with fuel injection on my spare 235. A small turbo like a TO3 would work pretty well and you could use the stock exhaust manifold and a fabricated intake to make about 5-10 lbs boost at 2000 rpm. There are a lot of small turbos available because a lot of people with factory turbo cars like Eclipses swap them for bigger ones when they modify.

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 29 Member | | Member Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 29 | yeah, i was planning on using a t3 or t4 turbo on my 235, so no tension issues. i have most of the system planned out. i am just trying to get the fuel pump figured out in a cost-effective manner. i though about fuel injection, but for now i will be using a carburetor in a blow through application, max 10 psi. any other issues with forced induction on the long block. i will probably use new rings, may or may not go for a full rebuild, but it would be a good idea. i know there are some flow issues with the stock head, i may look into a port job with bigger valves and a more aggressive camshaft. any other issues, ideas?
