| | | | Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 10 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 10 | I am at a point where I have to decide what to do with my windshield...I have a 51, 3100 1/2 ton [chevy of course] and can't decide if I should cut out the post and install a 2 piece butt joint windshield, or keep the post and stay stock.
I already have the butt glass, but where do I get the rubber seal? is the butt glass more likley to leak?
I would welcome your opinions on this .

If you cut the divider out, save the parts for installation later if you decide to change your mind. Seems like the rubber is going to be pretty much a guessing game, I would go to a glass shop that does custom work and see what they say. I worked at a motor home dealership many moons ago and they had a huge inventory of glass installation rubber profiles. We could fit glass into anything! The glass guy said he does it all the time. The only drawback I can see is you can't hit the silicone with a high pressure sprayer.
