Good Morning and Happy Friday,

A close friend and fellow wrencher is "borrowing" this piece for his rebuild. So I have no choice but to find another one.......for my eventual rebuild.

This one is from a 1958 (I believe) 261. Looks like an oil distribution fitting that lubricates the timing gears. It screws directly into the plate, and then bolts to the block as shown. A source for a new one would be appreciated. My "friend" will pay dearly. DAVE 261 !!!!

Hopefully this link works:

Thanks, Joe

Nozzle, timing gear oil is correct. Some plates I believe this is a tube pressed or welded in, not threaded.
Used is probably where you’ll find one.
Part number for threaded type with 1/8” nozzle is 3690722

This thread has good timing, this nozzle needs to be inspected and cleaned, on the 235 I have the nozzle is pressed in and flanged over on the inside of the plate. It was loose and the nozzle was pointing away from the gear set. I clocked it to point to the gear set and took a punch and put some stake marks on the back to tighten it up.

I did see a 235 the way you (SSTOCK) describe it, the nozzle is pressed in and flanged over as you say. I imagine it could be trouble if it gets clogged.
