From the head and block casting numbers, appears to be 1956-1962

3769716
The number behind the starter is L 13 1 <--- Dec 13, 1951 or 1961???
Best I can read the serial number behind the distributor is I2I4B <--can find
Intake 8754844
Exhaust 8885587
Also found B54 848 850
Oil filler is in the center of the cover.
I've looked at some of the sites for decoding the numbers, but the serial numbers/date code don't seem to line up with the formatting, etc.

You cannot determine the model GMC truck from the Engine Serial Number A228I94608 - A 228 194608A228 A = modifications to the engine/block from "normal" (marked at the engine plant) 228 = 228 engine 194608 = sequence number If there is an ID plate on the driver's door jamb, that will hold the series/model code.Unfortunately, many states (and DMV offices) used the Engine Serial Number for registration/title purposes.
