I was hunting for a different vehicle and bought this 1937 P U. The owner's brother got it in 1992 and dismantled it and started a rebuild. He finished the suspension and passed away in 1997. It sat in a garage till this year when I got it. I did not want another p u but you know. I started on it but my heart is not there so here's my question. 1- rebuild motor and hang sheet metal without fixing anything else or 2- hang sheet metal without fixing anything else and no motor.

The p u is in good shape with only one rust place which I am going to fix. Also the floorboard is shot and I got a piece of 16 gu and made a pattern and will have ready. Doors, fenders, hood, front windshield, grill, radiator are all ok Bed is fair with rotten wood.

I think I should hang sheet metal without motor and I would come out ok, the motor would not help as most would modify. Pictures, well I haven't tried cloud or photo pail, but maybe I could.

First, welcome to Stovebolt.com. Second, we do not allow selling/buying in the garage forums. Your question seems more toward what to do to make the truck sell better which would lead one to believe you are testing the waters to resell it. All buying/selling must be done in the Swap Meet Forum. If I am wrong and you intend to finish the truck then by all means ask away. We are always interested in a good build.

The older I get the less i like twisting around trying to get to stuff. Its a lot easier to do all you can before putting sheet metal on it.
Their are lots of folks that like the design and 37's are far and few in between now days. Fix it up and drive it. you won't regret it. I spent over 5 years on mine and smile every time I get in mine.

I assume you are going to sell it. Trucks are WAY easier to sell if put together for visual effects. That's what sells. Put the old motor in. Put the seats in. Put wheels and tires on it. Barn find style sale. Don't do too much more fixit work or you will screw it up for the antique purest.

how do I move to garage?

I will get kicked off now but I am a mopar guy and have a 1950 dge pu I use for work - wood, hay, ties, stock trailer etc. I was hunting for a dge/ply sedan to use with grand kids. I found the 37 and forgot how many I will have for a ride. I intended to fix it anyway but in my mid 70's I don't have time for this and another. The motor is a 235 so not original. I took apart and it needs 060 over and the cam is shot. Friend gave me another 235 and I took apart and looks like maybe the same. Anyway I painted some braces, cut out a little square of rust (not fixed yet) treated floors and painted, so I have done several things. But with time and age I took too much on and I think I can assemble, just with fender welt and nothing else and no motor and trade or get a ply Yet maybe it will be too neat to part with.

I joined and bought a manual so I did intend to finish. I am in my mid 70s and don't have energy and $ and health for 3 vehicles. My neighbor said he would give me my money back for it but I would not make anything, so guess I'll do sheet metal

I'm at a loss as to what you're trying to do here. If this is a for sale ad you'll need to say that and put a price on it. If not, this is the wrong place for it but I can move it where it needs to go. Actually, since it's a Dodge it's in the wrong place anyway. Let me know what your intent is and we'll try to make it work.

You will not find much interest here regarding your mopar/dodge parts and related woes/delights.

Having dallied a bit amongst the other makes (than GM), there are a lot of concepts that are pretty much the same. sheet metal is sheet metal, and there are some pretty talented people in here.
