Hello, unfortunately I cracked and broke the shifting housing (anyone have an extra?) trying to install new fulcrum pins in my 1946 Chevy 1.5 ton with original 216.
Doing a quick search locally for a replacement, I found a cheap 4 speed Saginaw out of a 1958 Chevy 1 ton dump, which was mounted to a 235. Will this transmission bolt to my 216 engine?
Thanks
-Scott

That trans won't fit your original bell housing. If the 235 bell housing fits the 216, there is an adaptor that can be made to install your stock pedal set to the 235 bell. The other questions about clutch fitment and input shaft length I can't answer.

Garlandfarms, are you after a crash box 4 speed upper shifting housing? With shifter lever? I actually have 2. One is on a junk tranny --- water in needle bearings and the other is on a good 4 speed. I store all my parts inside. dennislbrooks@roadrunner.com
