Hello Paul,
My truck is an Army adapted run-of-the mill civilian 1940 1.5 ton, WB Model truck. In the world of military history vehicle restoration these types of vehicles are known as MCP or Modified Civilian Pattern Trucks. My truck also has some differences to the American version of the truck due to the cabin being made in Australia by Holden. Later GMH as in General Motors - Holden. I am trying to identify if the tilt windscreen used on my truck by the Australian Army was borrowed from another truck.
I saw a photograph of a type of Studebaker today, and they have a similar pivoting windscreen with two braces on the A Pillars like your truck has. The pivot on my truck has a only one centrally located arm.
My truck is described on
https://www.stovebolt.com/gallery/evans_lionel_1940.html I have been around on Stovebolt for a while - I have just had other projects come up and usurp the Chevrolet's position in the restoration queue. Oh my ... I just checked the date that my Chevrolet arrived home and I first posted on Stovebolt... 2009 !!!
Kind regards
Lionel
