Hat rack. Well done, beautiful truck. A lot of hard work and money into it.

I usually wear a hat (not a ball cap) as in Western felt or straw hat, it hits the top of the cab often. After seeing the hat holder in the green truck I think one will be in mine very soon.
One thing about the salesman, he's good. Low key, sincere, looks trustworthy. Just the kind ya gotta watch. If I were a serious looker at this very nice truck, I'd show up with a rocker coating gauge to check for filler along with a good flashlight and ice pick for checking under underneath.
Odds are it's as good as it looks and for that it likely commands a premium.
Truck was in our calendar right after is was finished. The truck is also one a maybe a half dozen cars that were in his collection that are now being sold. Walter was one of those guys that seemed to have unlimited resources and his projects were done by one of the better restoration shops I have seen. I have many pictures of it in process. He had "paid parts finders" that scoured the country for NOS parts and accessories. It is well worth it's asking price. I am certain he spent considerably more than that having it done.
Calendar comment is incorrect. It was GMC calendar...sorry!
Beautiful Truck ! Curious why there is no floor mat covering the floor board ? Appears to be carpet on the bottom but only a painted floor panel under the brake pedal and accelerator pedal. Was that original or perhaps just the owners preference for the restoration.

There was in the parts catalog, colored floormats in blue, green, and the standard black. The blue and green were for the optional at that time two tone interiors. Walter's goal was to paint the black floormat to duplicate the green version until an original could be found if possible. Tim has more factory info on the deluxe cab options with the two tone interiors

Greg J - Wow, that's good information to know. The truck is a beauty, that's for sure! Thank you!

But I have to say my 261 starts much, much faster. He had to crank a bit. Still 6 volts, maybe? I'll have to go back and see it again. Not being critical, just proud of my 261, but it is 12-volts. Maybe I'm comparing 6-V apples and 12-V oranges.
Thanks for the post. Mrs. Wally and I both enjoyed it.
