I've been reading some of the threads on polishing the stainless steel on the grill and other pieces. I'm not sure if there are any specific threads on straightening bent grill parts. My '46 has a bent enter section as shown in the photo. Not sure how it got that way since there is the optional grill guard on the bumper (maybe it was a "closing the barn door after the horse is out" thing, lol. Is there anything special I need to know or do with regard to fixing this? Is it something I can do myself or should I take it to a shop. I've done a lot of restoration work and body work on other vehicles but have never worked with Stainless steel.

thanks,
Joe

Are you talking about stainless steel or chrome? I thought Art Deco grills were chrome.

I think you will find that the grill is chromed steel. The only parts that are stainless are the trim pieces at the top of the lower grill. I had my grill straightened by the shop that redid the chrome. Not cheap but worth it.

Hey George,

Looks like I'll take it in to someone. Given that it's the center piece of the truck I guess spending a few bucks on it will really make the truck I think,

Joe
