The Stovebolt Site Forums The Side Lot Annual Stovebolt Reunion (Kansas City) What we need help with.

Well T-5 days.
The Reunion is a team effort and we could use some help.
Long range forecast is calling for rain next weekend, but that could change easily.
Vicki and I will have the Stovebolt awning and also a second awning.
A couple more would help if need be.

We will have a cooler full of bottled water under ice. (Our private cooler will be stashed in a discreet location).
Vicki's cookies and lucky Buckeyes.
Two folding tables and a few lawn chairs.

Other snacks and soda are welcome.

We have some small door prizes for the drawing and a bunch for the kids.
Don't know what we have for the fairer sex. (Vicki and I will do a inventory later this week)
So, if you want to contribute, bring something that you think some other motorhead may like.
Parts are also welcome.

Parking Coordinator, I'm looking for a volunteer to help park folks Saturday morning.
It's not a hard job and you get to meet and greet everyone.

Group photo, we need someone to set up and take the group photo.
I'll help rounding up everyone, make them smile and stand still or sit.

Everyone bring your cameras and take a lot of picture all weekend.
Pictures are our way to share and document the event.
"If it is not documented, it didn't happen".

Tired of typing and need to mow grass.

I will do what I can. I don't volunteer, did that twice, one worked out sorta and the other did not. I have 4or5 items to give away and the electrical tape.

Are going to be in the usual area and is that the only area I will be working in? The vest is optional but it might make it official.

Ron, last year as parking coordinator I carefully "Parked" 3 trucks including mine. I was totally worn out by noon. Suggest you get a red flag and whistle too. Hope you are as successful as I was!

Well, Martin, I will just pucker up and I carry a red bandanna.

I'll bring along some white elephant's for the drawings. not much, as most of my good stuff is still packed away.

white elephant stuff would be GREAT!!!! LAST YEAR I GRABBED SOME FOLDING RAMPS & SWEAR my sons and friends use them about every week ! THANKS -WHO EVER BROUGHT THEM!!!!!!!!! we might be down on some giveaway stuff -freebies have been slim for us ?? anyway we will all have a good time !if it rains it rains -this week in iowa -it has rained constantly -some areas had up to 7 1/2 " of rain -iowa should be stocked up on ground water tables going into winter ? later mike

I just checked and I'll have a 50 pack of red shop towels.
You can give those out as you park the trucks and take pictures of the owners in front of their trucks.

We will have a high level Reunion committee meeting, Friday evening at the Aldersons.

I was thinking about bolting one on the steel bed of whatever truck I bring.
65 or a 57, both are GMC dualies with steel beds.

Don, you said something about books, I was just thinking about that last night. I have a lot of murder mysteries if anyone is interested I can bring some to give out. Will try to get some goody bags together tomorrow to bring. Got my umbrella and awning already in carryall. It has rained here in central Iowa for almost 10 days, we are getting used to it. Besides, I thought all you Stovebolters were tough guys!

The books I'll have are westerns Written by Zane Grey and Louis L'amour.
Bring them and we'll do some swapping. (Books that is)

Right now I'm reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William L. Shirer.
Interesting and long book, I'm maybe 3/4 way thru it and have been reading on it about a month now.

Never had time to read when I was working and am doing way too much of it now.

If you remember, we had bright yellow shirts in 2016.
Pink in 2017 and Construction orange this year.

Hopefully we will get the shirts tomorrow afternoon.
