Restoring my truck. My radiator is shot. Got a price on re-coring it and it was ~$725. I want to keep it as close to original looking as I can without breaking the bank but I am not a purist. New Aluminum can be had for ~$200, but would like an original looking copper/brass one instead. Wondering where is the best place to get one? The best I have found via google is classic industries for $415.

I think you’re going to find that if you don’t want aluminum then the $415 is going to be in the ballpark at most of the aftermarket stores.🛠

Thanks. I sent US Radiator an email, they don't appear to have prices on their site.

The prices are there, you just have to go to the specific radiator you want. The price will then magically appear. secret

** I got Jim Carters radiator which in appearance is about as close to orig. looking as you can get. It is also brass. As I recall it was a little over $400 without any discount. Right now Jim Carter has a pretty good discount in effect (current discount code is LD18} only good for a short time.

FWIW, I bought my 3804's replacement radiator from Jim Carter's Antique Truck Parts for about that price and it is identical to the original one. 2 years later and I am very pleased with it.

Jim has been a long-time supporter of stovebolt.com so if you gave him your business, I would certainly appreciate it. Not sure if the Stovebolter 10 percent off discount is still in effect, but it never hurts to ask.

Thanks,
John

If you go for a stock radiator and you haven't already done so, consider the water pump relocation modification for your 235. It places the pump back in the center of the radiator and greatly improves cooling vs. using the stock 235 pump and location. If you do a search there is a lot of information about this and one of the forum members sells a plate to help accomplish that.
