Coolwhip,
Attached is a picture I took of a 37 truck rear bumper. I don't know if it will help you. My truck is at a shop getting painted so I can't go out and snap more photos.

The grill is attached with bolts along the sides that can only be accessed when the grill shell is removed from the truck. That means removing the radiator along with the shell and detaching the shell from the fenders.

YES YES YES THANK YOU lightholder's dad . once removing po huge homemade bumper I was left looking at frame rails trimed by a torch. since then wondering what is missing/how do I fix? I have shell removed but po has wire tied and brazed grill to shell which has caused issues , so before performing surgery ,buying new grill and what not, I would ask here and was not let down. thank you sir you made my week !
