so I've been making all these Grand plans to change over to Bendix Brakes in my 1950 however when I crawled under it today I noticed that it already has Bendix brakes. Has anybody heard of perhaps a mid-year switch it is a GMC by the way.

Maybe someone put a '50 cab on a '51-'53 frame. If not, they at the very least, swapped torque tube rear ends and front baking plates.

My 50 had huck in front and bendix on rear

Dad bought the truck in early 70’s.
No telling what was done to it before he got it.

Most likely they would have switched when the old-style "ran-out".

The engine number is A228302917
The cab serial number FC 102 106718

It's a half ton long box on a half ton long box frame,. I would be surprised if a person could find a new half ton long box frame to put a half ton long box cab onto. As from what I understand they have some long box GMC was fairly rare.
