Ok so I'm in need of new front shocks on the dump truck. And having a time finding the right part number for them. Found a lot online that claim to fit but all are different part numbers and prices and I want good ones that will last. So any part number help would be great.... fyi these are the part numbers I've found so far that I'm lead to believe will fit: 66861, 66833, 66444, and 66859. And the prices I found on these were varied and it seems to me they are all the exact same so what's the differance on the part numbers and prices???? Thanks for any advise on this.... mike

Hy DIY.MechanicMike, according to my Euclid catalog the o.e.m. p/n is 3192892, the Euclid p/n is E-83310, that is also the part number for the rear shocks as well, hope that helps.

66878 is another monroe part number for shocks that interchange with that pn# you gave me so out of the 5 pn#s : 66878, 66861, 66833, 66444, & 66859.... are there any mechanical differance in these shocks or is it just part number differance?

Ok so nvm on that last post there is a differance in length and movement distance, along with different mount hole sizes.... too many options Haha why change it up when they all do the same thing basically

66861 is the pn# for my setup just took old one off and measured the mount hole i.d. and sleeve length, 3/4" i.d. and 1 9/16" long sleeve.... and dang it's no wonder my front end has been rough hitting bumps in road these old pups are squishing all the way in and not retracting only thing that was giving me suspension is the leaf springs

Ok so now I'm wondering how the automotive industry even deals with parts stores I went to napa and a medium/ heavy duty truck place to get help finding a "upper shock to frame mount bracket" mine is worn pretty bad and these ppl tell me it's to old to get stuff for and that is downright laziness. Then tells me best bet is to make one or find a salvage yard, I'm here willing to fork over money to him and this is the service I get. At least napa pulled out a book and tried, bost trucking just acted like I was in his way, maybe he doesn't get paid enough for what he does for them and that is sad. ... anyway sorry for the rant just cant seem to get help from parts places around me, heck this site is better then any parts store I been to and I cant even buy parts from here but I at least can get part numbers so if anyone has part numbers for the upper shock to frame mounting bracket please share so I can search the world wide web for more helpful parts stores.

Hey Mike, sorry you are having a hard time finding your parts. I do believe they are right on though, a shock mount would be a dealer item, and not something a parts store would normally carry (unless possibly a generic one). Shocks, yes, but mounts, not so much! Finding a used one or making one is probably your best and only option.

Hy DIY.MechanicMike, I'm sorry I do not have access to all my books at the moment, but I did find some Euclid (Fleetline) retrofit shock mount brackets, p/n E-141256 RH bracket, 141257 LH bracket, also p/n 141259 that on can be used for either hand. Try and google those and see if they will fit the bill, hope that helps.

Hey so I found the stud I needed at a medium/heavy duty truck salvage yard about 80 miles from me so it was a hard drive to make for a whopping two dollar stud and I also got a turn signal for my bucket truck lol but the stud and signal was 2 bucks pretty awesome til u factor in the 160mile round trips gas and were and tere on my truck but what can I do ..... now that I got the shocks fixed time to work on getting new tires for the front and eventually the back but ....... I have the rh-5 rims so gotta go on another hunt for this project. What is the best options for serviceable rims??? Hub swap? Will cast rims fit on these rh-5 rims hub?(other post tell me no) so how should I approach this???? I do have a bus garage near me for possible rim purchasing but will they fit on my hubs is the question? (Should I start new thread for this and beat that rh-5 dead horse like everyone else haha) thanks mike

Start a new thread...tell us how many lugs, are you hub or stud piloted and what size your current tires are...that will get the conversation started!
