Hey all, I have a kwik wire wiring harness. When wiring up the turn signal switch, the Yellow wire goes to the left front headlight, green to the right front headlight, brown to the right rear tail light,orange to the left rear tail light, red to the stop light,black to the turn signal flasher.
My question is the remaining wire on the turn signal switch is the blue wire, what wire on the kwik wire harness does the blue wire connect to? I'm getting so close to starting up the truck for the second time.
The flasher has either two prongs or three prongs. "X" for power-in and "L" for lights and "P" for pilot, as Dads50 says. The L and P are the same. They give off a blinking voltage to whatever bulb they are connected to. If you have a three prong, attach blue to P. If you have only two prongs attach blue to "L". If you have a dash mounted indicator light, you would wire the bulb to L or P.
Now-a-days we call the pilot an "indicator" that blinks along with the truck lights to let us know it's blinking so we shut it off after the turn. These column mounted units don't have self cancelling. They have yourself cancelling. I guess some have a cancelling bracket.
If your T/S unit does not have an indicator, attach blue to a seat belt chime.....or unconnected.
