He "popcorn" welded here and there to the angle iron perimeter. I need to re-weld. My question is about the angle iron which surrounds the inner bed floor. Are they spot welded to the bed sides and if so what is the locations or spacing of said spot welds? Our truck bed has about 40 coats of paint and grease so finding the spot welds has been a real pain....any help would be greatly appreciated and we thank you, Steve  | | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 428 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 428 | Yes they are spot welded to the bed sides and I think the welds are spaced about 3 inches apart along the entire length of the angle strips. If I am wrong about the spacing someone else will chime in. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,154 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,154 | THANKS bigbassmann, you must have hit the weld on the head as there seems to be no Chime-iners around...T/C Steve | | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 3,458 | He's right, and the spot welds were done by hand, so their placement is somewhat random and defined by the skill of the operator.
