I recently bought a '52 Chevy 3100 in Michigan. Searching the Stovebolt forums answered many of my questions while I was shopping for a truck. I'm looking forward to interacting with the group.

My connection with AD trucks goes back many years. Although I had never owned one myself until now, my dad, uncle, grandfather and great uncle all had them. I guess I learned to drive in one before I could see over the steering wheel, cruising the fields at my uncle's farm in Ohio.

The truck I bought is an older restoration with a 327 engine, Muncie transmission, and 3.36 rear end added. As best I can surmise, the restoration was probably done prior to 1990, but still looks decent, although dated some. I have some minor things that need to be addressed (tightening the steering, cleaning up the wiring mazes, etc.) I plan to use it as a daily driver during the non-snow months.

Welcome Terry, just remember you could have joined without owning one, all you needed was simply liking them. But good that you have one now and joined the group. Nice to use it as a daily driver. Have fun with it.

Welcome to the Stovebolt madness. I may be a bit picky but you don’t have a restored or restoration. You have a restomod or hotrod. In 1952 a 327 was not available. Just trying to keep you in good graces with the purest crowd among us.

Terry, welcome to the Stovebolt Page. Best old Chevy site on the web. I like the daily driver status. A truck you can work on, a truck that can pay its way, fun to drive, all the girls whistle at you, and no payments. Hmmm, can't seem to find one single problem with being a Bolter!!
We are here to help, regardless of what you do to your truck. Just ask in the garage forums and we'll do the rest.

Martin - you are correct about it being a restomod. I was really looking for an old, more original "farm" truck but most of those had rust and may or may not run. I got this one for only slightly more money. I intend to move it back towards original to some degree. Not sure how far I'll go. I'll post a few pics when I'm able. I'll be in touch with the forum. I'd like some input on a few things for getting it more user friendly.

Achipmunk - I see you're from Boiling Springs. I lived in Greenville for a number of years. Oh for the old days of The Beacon: I could use a chili-cheese burger a-plenty and tea right now!!

The car club I have belonged to for over 15 years does a cruise in there every 3rd Friday of the month and a big show at the Westgate Mall every year in May. Come visit us anytime.......I meet a bolter in Greenville about once a month for lunch at the Chic-fil-A on Pelham Rd.

Terry, welcome to the hobby. Always good to see another old truck fan up here in the great white north.
I'm just about getting my project on the road after 5 years of a three year planned restoration, so patience and perseverance will prevail.
Glad to share the good bad and ugly, and a few leftover parts anytime. I'm just down the road in Merrimack.

I'll have to come over and see you sometime. I've got a few planned refinements for the immediate future: new mufflers to quiet the truck down some, new steering gear box (it has power steering from an early 70's C10) and steering u-joints to get rid of the steering wander, and moving the gas tank back behind the seat to replace a very poorly done "behind the rear axle" tank installation.

Achipmunk - I still have family in the Greenville area, and my son and family live in Charleston, so we get back 3 or 4 times a year. Greenville isn't the sleepy little city it was in 1965 when our family relocated there from Ohio. You could get from one side of town to the other in 10 minutes, going through downtown. I'll look you up when I'm down sometime.
