Ran into a slight dilemma with rust pitting on the rear of '54 261 crankshaft, don't want to assemble this engine and have it leak through the rear main seal.
I remember back in the day Speedi-Sleeves were available for the front crank seal but can't seem to locate any for the rear.

Anybody have luck locating finding one of these?

Thanks, Bud

I wanted one for my axle. I found their technical catalog online and looked up the size that i needed. I took the number to a parts supplier and they ordered it for me.

It might be something that can be used on newer engines with a one piece oil seal but on the early engines the crankshaft flange would be in the way.

Weld it up, turn it down.

Try a SKF part number 99387. It's the right diameter (3 7/8") and covers an area on the shaft about 13/16" wide. Since the 216/235/261 cranks don't have a big rear flange for flywheel mounting, the sleeve will slip on. Secure it with RED Loctite. If you're using a rope seal, you might have lots of problems with the seal creating excessive drag on the crankshaft due to the increased diameter of the shaft with the sleeve on it.
