Is there such a tire as a 225/70/22.5? I can find chains for them but I cant find a supplier for the actual tire.
Id like to try and find some if they do actually exists as they are the same diameter as a 7.00 x20
Any help is appreciated

The wheel is different though, do you have 22.5” wheels for the truck?
Depending on the truck you may do fine with a little taller tire, for example 9r22.5 tires fill up the fenders and look ok on a 48-54 two ton, on 22.5” wheels.

Iam looking at a set of 22.5 alcoas part no 873607. they are a 7.5 x 22.5. was going to get a set of adaptors made. My initial investigations found a 225/70/22.5 which is perfect to replace the 7.00x 20 on the front and 255/70/22.5 on the rear which would be a good replacement for the 7.50x20 rears. the 255/70/22.5 rears are no problem but I went searching for the 225/70/22.5 for the front and now I cant seem to find any suppliers. I was under the impression it was a tyre that was used a lot in RVs. Now iam not sure if they ever existed

What year and model truck?
You can probably use same size front and rear, and probably fit larger than stock. Although a 7.5” wheel is getting a little wide for these old trucks, 6” rim and tires that fit a 6” rim might fit under the fenders better.
Won’t be original anyhow, so as long as the tires and wheels fit you’re good to go.

I just put 255/70R22.5's on the back of my '58. I can measure them if you would like.

I too was having a hard time for fronts, but finally went with a 235/80R22.5 front runners, they are a little taller than the backs, but fill the fender and look good.

Very good tires, but expensive. I bought used, like new, for $410 for the pair at an equipment auction.

I can measure both the fronts and the rears tomorrow or the next day an get back.

They look good. are there any clearance issues with the 235 on the front at full lock?
I will be fitting to a 43 chev truck

A 43 model truck will fit tires differently than the later models, not a good comparison.

I've been looking around a few forums at a few things and this Grigg fella comes up a fair bit. Was looking at a Diesel engine swap site last night and was looking through Griggs photo album of an old chev truck. Hold with a 6v53 Detroit. Any one you know?
