Has any of you done rust repair in your drip rails. I sand blasted the drip rails and have pin holes on the roof, the pin holes I can drill out and make plugs for but the problem that I am encountering is trying to cut out the flange on the roof that sits inside the drip rail without cutting into the driprail itself, it's this flange from the roof that is badly blistered and the drip rail is in good shape. If these pin holes turn out to be bigger I'll make a bigger patch, I still only want to cut out the flange of the roof and not cut the drip rail, is there a tool out there that will cut in such a small area.

can you get a picture of what you are talking about. I've fixed drip rails before, and your can buy new ones at several venders.

The pin holes are only pin holes on the surface. They will be craters after you drill them out.
You may be better off getting a new cab roof and drip rails.

I hope you weren't planning on plugging the pin holes with bondo. you never want to fill a hole with bondo. They should be welded.

I plan on sand blasting the inside tommorrow and see to what extent the rust runs along the drip rail,so far I think it is isolated only on the passenger side for a few inches and only on the roof skin. My main concern is being able to cut out the metal inside the drip rail and not cutting into the drip rail itself, cutting above the drip rail is no problem,it's such a small area that I wouldn't consider another roof skin and I wouldn't just fill it with bondo, this truck is going to spend the rest of it's life with me or the other way round
