I have a few questions about weatherstripping on my '49. The truck was a total basket case when I got it so I'm not sure how some of it is supposed to go together. Anyway, on the outside of the door glass, there's supposed to be a rubber "wiper" that fits in a groove inside the door. I see the groove, but what keeps the strip of rubber in place? Along the bottom edge of the interior of the door there is a metal strip attached with screws that looks like it would secure some weatherstrip. What goes here? Last, how does the wide strip of rubber between the bottom of the cab and running board attach to the truck? Pics would be great! Thanks in advance!

Ok, that solves the door bottom question. I'm still unsure about the other two.. I don't see how the groove in the door holds the wiper. The "fat" side of the wiper rubber I have just fits loosely into the groove in the door.. Would it be possible to get a better angle of the cab to runningboard rubber?

Southtowns, I thought I had my pictures of the cab to running board in the album but obviously not. I will find them and load them tonight.
...in the meantime the body "rolls under" and there is a horizontal "lip" that the rubber lays on and is bolted to it. I THINK there is another metal strip that lays on top to keep the bolts/screws from pulling through the rubber. Worst case is I'll have to get under the panel and take some more pics...........its been a while since I did them.
Aha! I'm missing the piece of flatbar that goes with the cab to runningboard rubber. Anyone know where I can get those?

I have 279 pictures of the panel resto in my photobucket and only was able to get out about 2/3 of them before they practically shut me down. I'm still trying to retrieve them, be it one at a time, as I "lost" the original ones I had "saved". Oh well, we'll keep trucking...and thanks to you Tim for all you do to keep us going straight.
