So in my search on repairing or replacing the axle shafts on my '53, I came across Tom Differentials' website and see that he makes 30 splines axles that will work with open 12 bolt spider gears. I've tried contacting him with no luck yet, so does anyone know if it's as simple as getting 30 splines axles made and simply swapping out the spider gears? Tom's website mentions being able to ditch the cross pin block, but I'm not sure how. Tom's axles appear to be the wrong length for my year, but Dutchman Axles would be able to make some. Pricey, but it's at least an option if a repair or used axles don't pan out.
