I ordered the water pump conversion the engine I'm going to put in my 1946 Chevrolet truck. I have read where people have drill the end of there crankshaft for a small block bolt. But I am planning on using a balancer off of a 216 with the hand crank teeth so I guess that means I can't use a balancer bolt? Also it says to use sealer on the adapter to block surface what kind of sealer is used red, black or grey?

The 216 balancer can be modified to accept a center bolt by boring a step into the front of the hand crank lugs in a lathe. The hand crank can't be used then, however.

I have used almost every color of RTV, and they all seem to work fine.
