I just wanted to know what it was called in case I could not and needed to find one. I was searching this forum as it is on my 40 Chevy truck. It’s nothing no more than a reservoir.
Would this have been a GM part or an add on from Railway Express Agency?

The brake reservoir is mounted on the firewall and runs down to the master cylinder. The engine is s 216 with a four speed and closed driveline. I imagine this reservoir assisted in extra braking power back in the day. I hope to reuse as much as possible of the parts where I can of a very rough but unusual truck.
I posted photos of the truck on big bolts and Jerry has been a huge resource of information on the engine and transmission.
Does anyone have this reservoir on their trucks?

Additional power can be supplied, if wanted, by the addition of a hydrovac(vacuum) booster; or revised pedal geometry.

The remote reservoir did nothing to improve the performance of the brakes- - - - it just made topping off the fluid more convenient. Jerry

I have some pressure washing to do on the truck. It will be a few weeks but will take a few photos to see where this one attaches. I haven't put it back on yet but have it all cleaned up & painted. Like they said its there for a convienant way to service the MC. This one is a early 50,s Ford.
