Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 | I have a 53 235 engine with the early valve cover. The head has the 4 holes for the later valve cover. The early cover leaks real bad, and I'm hoping the newer style will seal better. So I need to know how to get the two studs out, and install two bolts. I was thinking I could lock up a couple of nuts on the studs and back them out? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 1,418 ODSS Lawman | | ODSS Lawman Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 1,418 | The two nut trick is exactly how to remove the studs.
However before you do that remove the valve cover and place on something flat. Often they are bent causing leaks. Little bit of work with the body hammers can fix that.
