Hello Bolters, I have an opportunity to buy a needed valve cover for my 235 build. My question is does the original Chevorlet valve covers have a part number, mark something to tell? The one I am looking at buying looks barely used and the seller does not know the history on it. Any input to distinguish a "Re-Pop" VS Original? Thank you. The one I'm looking at is painted blue/gray color, oil fill towards the front, has the "Chevorlet" on it. //Update: I bought it. It looks pretty well cared for compared to a lot of others I have looked at.
In my experience, I have not seen a repro valve cover with the Chevrolet script on it. As far as quality, I have had two chrome repros that fit well. They rust easily, though. The repop timing covers are a different story.

Actually, the valve covers I have had both fit well, and the metal is practically the same gauge as the original. The chrome plating is a bit cheap, but they fit well. And, even buying a few, it is much cheaper than having one of my originals chromed.

That photo presentation used to be on the Puget Sound Chevy Club website. At least a link was there to it. I am glad to learn that it was not lost as I could no longer find it with the link I had. Very helpful info.
