Is anyone else aware that their website is inaccessible?
I was too poor, for too long (still am, but trying to gather ideas for prep) to get my hands on their 8 lug disc brake conversion brackets. Is there an alternative besides the P-30 business? Is he/they members here?

I would be willing to guess that it's a done deal.

Tom's Classics AKA Auto City Classics had a kit at one time. Their website doesn't list it, but may be worth a call.
http://www.autocityclassic.com/

You could always try and come up with something on your own too. I worked on building my own kit for awhile, but had some machine shop issues and went another direction. I've seen some members here and other forums come up with their own setup.

Randy Domeck from Indianapolis Fabrications has a kit for big trucks. He may be a good resource.

Here's a bracket that was done by a 17 year old. He CNC Machined it in his high school shop class.

One of the issues with the conversion is that most aftermarket rotors are so deep. That's why Hollister used a wheel spacer. I tried a rotor from a 92-96 F350 4wd, but it wouldn't go over the hub without machine work. Dodge B350/B3500 vans have a shallower rotor, but I never did try them.

Is that via laptop or PC? I'm stuck using my phone and the upper left on the mobile site is only the icon/link to our home page.
Could you copy & paste the address, I'd really appreciate it!

From Indianapolis Fabrications, or The Hollister road company?
How big is your truck?
I left a request yesterday with Indy Fab asking if it would work on a 3/4 ton... still waiting for a reply. It was late in the day so I'm not expecting anything before Monday.

The Hollister Road Company was Thoroco's company.
The reason why the website is gone.

Yes the company was closed due to Dave's untimely passing. I was/am also interested in the 8 lug conversion kit and If I remember correctly the Hollister kit was set up to use a 2002 chevy 2500 HD rotors. Dave had sent me a shopping list for Rockauto for the other items I would need but unfortunately that list is no longer available.

Does anyone recall how thick the spacer ring he used was?

I want to say that it was something like 1 1/2" spacer. I know from my experience with trying to make the late model GM stuff work that seems about right.

If you use the narrow REAR rotors off of an 03 and newer GM van it helps the spacer situation.

Just FYI here's a link to the Toms Classics bracket. It says 55-59, but the 52-59 trucks all use the same spindle.

You can still use the kit. There is only slight differences in the spindle. The wheel hubs are actually the same, just different bearings. The 52-59 spindle is slightly taller and has a longer kingpin.

The brake mounting holes are in the same location relative to the spindle. You may have to drill out he holes. I believe the early ones were 7/16 and the later 1/2"

So I'd only need to drill out the mounting holes, and use stock bearings?
No shims?

Are the calipers, pads, & rotors readily available elsewhere for future servicing, or exclusive to the seller?

Check out post 82 from here.

DIY Brakes

Anyhow, I looked up the part number on the rotors. They are late model GM rear rotors that you can find on 2000 and newer trucks and 2003 and newer vans.

The calipers are 80's Chevy K10.

As far as bearings go. Your stock ones are all you'll be able to get.

Shimming, etc... Can't tell you. You may have to put an extra washer here or there to get things to line up. I don't believe they use a spacer.

Guys have been converting the Huck to Bendix brakes on these trucks for years. All that was required was drilling the holes out to 1/2" https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=953963

Glad I could help.

I did alot of leg work in the past trying to come up with something of my own.

If you dare to check out my photobucket, you can see where I was going with it. http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/w...Brakes%20and%20Spindle?sort=6&page=1

Anyhow, there were a handful of guys that beat me to the punch.

I kind of lost interest in it and decided to go a different route.

Good luck.

Chris

Just FYI. You could also use K20 calipers instead of K10. They have an 80mm piston vs. 75. Realistically I don't think you'll tell the difference especially with a 13" rotor.

I'll look into those.... I have not read what the m/c bore size needs to be....any ideas?
I can't imagine them requiring anything too extreme.

1 1/8 was standard on them, but you could get 1 1/4 and 1 5/16. I think it all had to do with what rear brakes the truck was running.

I know the Corvette guys like using the truck 1 1/4 master, if that makes any difference.

Hi, I was looking to order from Hollister but have read these posts about his passing. I talked to him a few times, very nice and very smart.
I see the 8 bolt conversion kit on Ebay is listed for 55-59. And am wondering if anyone has used it on a 50. Thanks in advance, Dave
