I have a 51 3100 that i have pulled the 216 engine, 3 on the tree column shift transmission and 6 lug torque tube rear axle ( two 3 speed trans and torque tube with rear axle are for sale) that i have pulled from the truck. I have a 305 out of a 79 camaro that i want to throw in along with a 700R4 trans and a rear 6 lug axle out of a 1980 K10. I know i am supposed to change out the water pump to the short style. My plans are to run an electric fan with a shroud on a new radiator. Do i still need to change out the water pump? Doing this 305 motor I know i will have clearance issues with the stock steering. Which i do plan to use. I know i am supposed to space it out 1.5-2 inches. Are any further modifications needed to the steering other an that? Also what headers should i be looking for? I head read from Block huggers or ram horn headers. Also wanting to know what radiator should i get? Can i use an OEM replacement? i Would like to put the radiator in the stock location. I have seen a company name "champion" named a few times. This is my first vehicle i have owned older than an 87. Most of this stuff is all new to me. Advise and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There are 2 or 3 threads going on right now which address your swap very directly. Go read those and come back if you have any more questions. We have answers, but it is getting very repetitive answering the same questions in multiple active posts.

I went with Dakota Digital VHS gauges. They are awesome gauges but a little pricey.

P.S. Do you know what i hate. If i reply to a thread i should be automatically "following" that thread. I feel like i should get automatic instant email notifications when a reply is made. I have checked my profile preferences without seeing any thing to make this change. :-(

People in the hot place want icewater. This is a forum that's provided to you free of charge by a lot of hardworking stovebolters who also have a life to live that's not centered around making the hotrod project that it looks like you're not qualified to attempt easier. Show a little appreciation for the wealth of knowledge that's available here, instead of whining, and you'll get a lot more assistance.

You may want to check to see if emails are going into your "junk" or "spam" folder.

Thanks!

This was the first thing i checked. I am not getting any notifications. I even put the "user menu" to pin it to the left side of the screen. That doesn't even work.

Sgt,

There was a big software "update" a few weeks ago. Configuring the new software/system is still underway, as oddities/inconsistencies are found.

We all say "thank you" to the "managers", and clearly point out problems (as you did).

hopefully it helps to streamline and identify the problems to get them worked out
