Hi all,
I have a 1950 1/2 ton. Where does the groundcable attach to the chassis?

Which hole in the frame is used for the cable? I mean the location, there are many holes

Choose a hole that suits your fancy.

For example:
- place the battery so the positive lead (that goes to starter) is orientated to the front of the truck.
- the negative lead will be rearward of the battery box.
- use a hole in the side of the frame rail that can be easily bolted into.

However, I went for overkill on my 6v Suburban and ran the ground cable to a starter bolt.

If you have a 6v system, use no smaller/thinner than 2 gauge cables/straps - I use 00 gauge cables.

If a GMC half ton, it will be pos. ground.

Also, be sure to sand or grind the frame down to bare metal where you bolt the cable on.

Also, use a conductive anti-oxidant grease on the bare/shiny metal on the mating surfaces.

NO-OX-ID label says it is food grade. Maybe it is chicken fat, beef tallow.

The term “food grade” is an adjective that means the material or product at hand is either fit for human or animal consumption, or, more commonly, is at least permitted to come into contact with food. I think the latter of the two is what’s implied in the No-Ox-Id label. Don’t think I want to eat a spoonful of the stuff.
