Handy Andy and I talked today about the Homecoming this spring.
It's kind of early to set a date, but if it happens, I hope to attend.

Zero degrees here at the moment. I don't think you want to be here right about now ... I've had the furnace on full in here and the Stovebolt HQ office won't go above 60. The computers are happy, though ... Leo's campsite looks like Scott or Shackleton would be right at home ...

We had a darn heat wave here in SE Iowa........It got up to 8 degrees F!

I took the beer out of the fridge and put it next to the chimney. It's staying just about perfect out there. The soda in the fridge is all frozen. But at least I saved the important stuff. We're not complaining about the cold too much -- A good, hard freeze does good things as far as killing off soil and plant fungus and knocking back the bugs for next summer. With a freeze like this, I can save a few bucks on pesticides for next season (and put it towards homecoming beer ... )

Thought of the night...... how many cases of beer fit into the bed of a 1951 3100? Don’t include ice or coolers!

Stacking only to the top of the bed side with the tailgate closed (two layers) and assuming a case is (24) 12oz glass bottles...32 cases!

I screwed up and left 6 cans of Mountain Dew in the shop/pole barn fridge.
All six cans exploded in the door, spraying the frozen beer on the shelves.
Heat wave here in mid Mo. today also. Got up to 22 degrees today with a east wind.
Snow/ice/rain tomorrow with a high of 38 and a 1/2 inch of rain.
Got another jag of wood in today, so we are good for a few days.

We drive Stovebolt’s! Do we do anything in moderation? Maybe we plan for a convoy on day 1 where we go fill the bed of Charlie up and convoy the beer back to HQ. With approval, I would like to invite a local brewery this year. The owner has a 55 (?) panel that he converted the back into beer dispenser. He takes it around to places.

Why would you ask about the dust mask? don't you always wear it with pride? I figured that since it is my last homecoming for a while AND I am getting a promotion at work, it is military fashion to bring some beer. How much? That is still to be discussed!

As to Tim's point .... I'm not sure I want to comment as to being *worth* the trip, but as far as actually making the trip .... I guess he's set a pretty high bar for distance being an obstacle to attendance ....

I had cleared the calendar for all weekends in april. So your proposal does not offend me. And i am well aware that my calendar falls into your, who cares category.

Oh Hambone -- Don't feel bad. I'm sure LOTS of people have your calendar in their "Who Gives a dead weasel's butt?*" category...

I may be able to find the appropriate "cost of admission" here on Possum Hollow road, but to follow John's lead about the appearance of P&C, that date works great for me.
