Good Morning,

I am installing new glass in the doors of a 47 AD. The window edge trim around the perimeter of the glass attaches to the window regulator hardware with a "male/female" screw setup. I've been able to make and improvise just about all the hardware on the truck. This one stumps me, as it is so small and flush with the trim. Anything that would stick out proud would keep the window from traversing the channel. I'm almost thinking to put a slight weld between the 2 pieces. Or at least ask my buddy...........I can't weld.

Anyone come across this situation? I don't imagine there is a source for the screw setup. I was able to remove the old clutch head and female receiver.

Thanks, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Joe

classicparts.com has those screws/sleeve nuts. Part # 70-811. $4.95 enough for both sides.

Too bad I didn't find that source before I made my own on my hillbilly lathe. Cordless drill and bench grinder, that is. It only took me 3 times and most of a day to get it right.

Joe, do you know someone who works in a body shop? I had a friend who does all sorts of restorations who had the tool to put them in and had a supply of the rivet with the kit. I'd think most shops would have one.
(I needed the rivit nuts on my door panel) Worked like a charm.

It ain't no fun climbing the telephone pole with my laptop to order stuff neither.
I'm still proud, however not of being a coal miner's daughter...
