I did so and am having a problem with flash rust. Should I have washed the rims or was that a mistake? I was planning on using Eastwoods Rust Converter, but should I worry about the light rust or is it ok with a converter?

Michael | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 267 | i wash with phospheric acid after i blast,however i'm not sure i would use that on wheels.having said that, a light wash should not cause the metal to become brittle like it may if you were to soak them for while.
the rust converter is not much different. wire wheel or brush the flash rust off and prime then you should ready for what ever finish you choose to use
