All the parts houses and even Classic Pats show something that looks nothing like the original and it has a plate on the back so the impeller does not even enter the block. Has anybody seen one of these or know if it’s new design, and will it actually fit my truck?

That style water pump is correct for a 1955 1st series (and, earlier) 235/261.

K 11 5 looks like a date casting code: K = 11 = November 11 = 11th 5 = 1955 A date casting code appropriate for a 1955 second series and later 235. Can you take a photo and attach/post it here?
