Can anyone point me towards another member or other resources concerning dropping a 5.3/4l60e into 1960 apache?
I'm mainly looking for swap parts, recommended fuel pump(inline or in tank), tranny cross member, vapor break for coolant system, exhaust manifold solution.

You might do a search on "LS swap brackets/mounts" since they are rapidly becoming the engine of choice. If Chassis Engineering in Iowa has started making parts for this swap they have quality products, reasonable price, helpful to work with, and usually give you a choice of weld in or bolt in parts. We have put an LS into a 66 and made all the items in house as it was several years back and after market parts weren't available. You will need a rear sump pan but with torsion bars you should have even more room than the 66. When finished show us a picture of how and where you mount the engine and transmission control electronics since I'm not satisfied with any of ours yet. They need access to cooling air but are not very pretty.

Try the LS1Tech forum, they have a Conversions and Hybrid section which is great, these engines have been installed everywhere and there is a lot of knowledgeable guys over there!
