Can anyone tell me what size 12v battery they are using in their 54 Chevy 3100? I will probably do what others have suggested and just take a tape measure with me to the store but I thought maybe someone could tell me the size in case I decided to mail order it. Also its difficult for me because my battery box is in rough beat up shape. I already bought a 24F Everstart Maxx battery because thats what the Everstart website suggested. It looks to be about 1" too long. I don't know if its really that much too long or if my box is that far out of shape.

Thanks for any comments

Have used the 24 series for years but often they don't drop straight down but have to be angled in past the floor board "lip". Once past they fit the box fine.

Thanks thats good to know. I got mine in the box by tilting it as you said but it didn't sit flat on the bottom because the sides are a bit smashed in. So apparently the issue is with my box and I have the correct battery. Thanks again

If you have not done anything yet you might consider an Optima red top battery, I had one for 13 years and replaced it 2 years ago. Or if you are going to have a heavy draw like using it for a musical venue might consider a deep cycle. They are pricey but good. Auto Zone has a similar battery called Platinum made by Penn a little cheaper.
