old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2017 Posts: 88 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2017 Posts: 88 | Can anyone tell me what size 12v battery they are using in their 54 Chevy 3100? I will probably do what others have suggested and just take a tape measure with me to the store but I thought maybe someone could tell me the size in case I decided to mail order it. Also its difficult for me because my battery box is in rough beat up shape. I already bought a 24F Everstart Maxx battery because thats what the Everstart website suggested. It looks to be about 1" too long. I don't know if its really that much too long or if my box is that far out of shape.

So apparently the issue is with my box and I have the correct battery. Or if you are going to have a heavy draw like using it for a musical venue might consider a deep cycle. They are pricey but good. Auto Zone has a similar battery called Platinum made by Penn a little cheaper.
