on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 393 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 393 | I have a rebuilt 235 long block with a 848 head. The head was not attached to the block so I don't have any head bolts. I have been searching for a couple of hours regarding the head bolts and have read a lot of good information about them. I understand there are two lengths used but I can't find the actual number of short and long bolts. How many of each do I need? Thanks in advance
It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.

You will be able to see where the bolts go and be able to tell if the head is thicker or thinner at that spot and this will help determine how many of each you need. For example, along the intake/exhaust side where the bolts go is thinner, so you need the shorter bolts for that location. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 393 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 393 | Thanks for the info/link.

Some bolt manufacturers list the length from under the head to the end. Rusty, read that link. It gives length, diameter, and thread.
