There are some letters and numbers on the VIN plate of my recently purchased 1966 Suburban that I cannot decipher. They are above the actual VIN number, and I have already figured that out.

I think that this Suburban was used at Fort Rucker. Perhaps it has something to do with it being a military vehicle

The DD appeared on Vin Plates about 63-66. GM wanted dealers to stamp the D-elivery D-ate in there. Not many did. The paperwork handled that and some were dislodged by stamping.Military Vehicle .
