I've ordered new shackles and spring eye bolts and while I'm waiting I've started to clean up the doors.
To take them off I undid the 6 bolts on the door side and the top hinges slid out of the doors but the bottom ones acted like there was something else holding them. I had to take the lower hinges off from the can to get the doors off.
So this left upper hinges on the cab and lower hinges stick in the doors. I've gotten the new pins and bushings for the hinges and I'm ready to fix the hinges but the hinges are still in the doors.
Am I missing something? I don't want start prying and mess something up.

The holes in the hinge strap are larger diameter than the sheet metal holes, leaving a space for the sheet metal to get pushed into. Carl

It is much easier when the door is off the truck and laying on a moving blanket on a bench.

They jiggle around in the door but won't slide out. The three bolts are out but they won't slide out. | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,597 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,597 | They only need a bit of clearance, I use a roto-file, while you are at it take a1/16" off, they wil need to go back in and it will scape any new paint. | | | | Joined: Jun 2017 Posts: 177 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2017 Posts: 177 | I got the hinges out. I pryed lightly and kept pulling back and forth. A lot of rust dust was coming out and so I soaked them in weep for a few minutes. Came back and they slid right out. Just rust build up keeping them sliding out and here I was wondering if I left an inside bolt or clip or something.
Thank for the input guys | | |
