The leak is coming from between the Steering Gear Worm Bearing adjuster nut and the housing. The exploded view doesn't show any type of seal and I think if there was it would be damaged when you adjusted the nut anyway. Is this a place to use that "form a gasket stuff? Ok, you experienced Bolters' whats the fix ?

What I did is a mix of 2 tubes of 00 Chevron grease and 1/2 cup of Amsoil 90 weight gear oil, mixed together and then put the mixture in a sandwich bag that I cut the corner off of and piped into the box. Of course you could just find the cornhead grease that's recommended in these and Bob's your uncle! | | | | | Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 1,293 Moderator for Tons o' Fun , Co-Moderator Driveline Forum | | Moderator for Tons o' Fun , Co-Moderator Driveline Forum Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 1,293 | doyle1950 - I put the cornhead grease in after having replaced the sector shaft bushings and also replaced the housing side cover gasket. This is a very slow but annoying drip.

I ordered a 2 inch outside diameter red silicone O-Ring and lubed it really well with Vaseline jelly & installed it before putting the large nut on. Snugged it down good and snug. Have not had and evidence of a leak since. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 916 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 916 | I used Stern's "00" self leveling grease in my box. Of course, that isn't gong to stop the seep that you have...

It remains flexible forever and will seal these areas very well. If you use Cornhead or similar grease and you still have a substantial leak, you need to replace some seals or gaskets.

Thanks guys, I've got the steering sector back out so it will be easy to correct.
