This is in regards to '50 Chevy 3800 DRW. I read (not here I don't think) that the mounting hole spacing is the same from 1/2>3/4>1 ton for the bracket that would hold a disc brake setup? I know Hollister makes the bracket for 3800 front and rear. I just wonder if I got access to a 1/2 ton front bracket if the spacing for the bracket mounting is the same I could fabricate my own using that as a template?

I used cardboard for a rough template, then plywood for a better template, then 5/8 plate steel for the final product.
You need to match the bolt holes up to the axle and caliper. Gauge the distance for the caliper to clear the rotor. Adjust until all is clear for the caliper to fit over the rotor.
Final is to determine the inward and outward distance for the caliper to the rotor.
