I have access to a '64 swb stepside with a good bed but the cab and front fenders are rough. Can anybody tell me if it's practical to mount a taskforce series cab to this truck? Any advice will be appreciated.

I have a 58 apache fleetside shorty on a 64 frame. I didn't do the work as I bought it this way. I think it just takes a little fabricating and creativity for the body mounts. I might have some pics from when I had it in the body shop last winter that might show something of your interest. I'll look.

What is a taskforce series cab? Is that a truck with a stake body bed? I had read in a post that a 2 ton cab was the same as the 1/2 ton. I am not sure if that is what you were asking or not.

A tape a creeper and a 1/2 hour on your back should solve the mistery. I bet the cab will bolt right on. the front end may be more trouble

Hey Poncho_Villa,

I'd be interested in seeing those photos too!

I would love to put my 56 TF onto a 67-72 frame since they have IFS and rear coil spring suspension.

That would be cheaper and simpler for me than an aftermarket IFS kit. It seems like you have to be a rocket scientist to put one of those things on.

Hey guys, I did find some pics. Not great ones tho, but might unlock some mysteries for you. I can't post pics on this forum, but if you guys send me a PM to my email address, then I'll send you what I got for pics. Just click on my name at the left and it will take you to where you can find my email address.

Rick
