Hello all,

I'm back at work on my '52 Burb.

I'm preparing to install the gas tank. I clean and sealed it now, I'm trying to get the new fuel line I installed connected to the tank.

My question is what fitting do I need to connect the fuel line to the tank. I have the steel flare fitting from the motor to the rubber tube. But, I've misplaced (I took it out to plug while sealing) the fitting from the tank to the rubber line. I tried the one I thought it was but, it doesn't want to fit. I don't want to risk stripping the threads in the tank. It seems to be 3/8" pipe thread is this correct?

Also I purchased new straps and rubber pads for the install. I removed the old rivets and was going to replace with hex bolts but, it looks like it they may rub. What have people used in this instance to prevent rubbing.

Thanks!!

Carriage bolts will also work but you'll have more options if you use the bolts that Tim has.

As for fitting, it has been a long time but I seem to remember it being and inverted flare type.

My tank had no rubber pads when I removed the old tank. Wonder if my tank had been off before some time in the past.
