good morning to all,
recently my son and i noticed air bubbles in the fuel filter in our 1937 chevrolet carryall with a 216 motor. the tank was redone a couple years ago, the lines we replaced from tank to fuel pump then from fuel pump to glass bowl fuel filter. the problem is when we go uphill, the suburban starts to stutter and it stops. we can start it but it takes a few cranks. any advice?
we checked and tightened the fuel lines
some people said to replace fuel filter, fuel pump some even said this was normal.

When was the last time the filter element was replaced? Maybe partially clogged from stuff in the reconditioned tank. Just thinking out loud.🛠

i will replace that tonight because i remember a while back crud floating in it. i took the filter apart but maybe internally there is something in there i will replace the unit as i bought one saturday thanks

You are sucking air from somewhere. If there is an obstruction in the gas tank or in the line before the fuel pump, a good fuel pump will suck air from a fitting which will not leak gas.
