Does anyone know the gear oil capacity of the Eaton 1350 ? My research shows both boxes take 3 quarts each. I'm currently arranging to get the last section of driveline rebuilt to get rid of the 60+mph vibration it's always had. That should be all I need to put 'er back on the road. (I forgot-I need to wire the trailer brake controller.) I've had to temporarily retire the BroncWorth;it has a "home-kluged" carburetor on it that worked passably but made it hard to start and brought the mileage down to the 8-9 mpg range. The hard starting ate another starter and ring gear, and I don't have room to work on it yet. Now I'm driving the '81 Toyota 4X4 truck. I sold my '76 Chevy one ton to a good friend;didn't want to,but the bills' gotta be paid . | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 926 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 926 | Thanks,Tim- Nope-I couldn't find anything listed that has a 6.40 high range This could be is a GMC only axle. Thanks for looking, and replying though. OH-One more thing-This Brownie has a military/really big truck speedo drive-the one with a hole for a "pin" with a "slot" in one side on one side. I need the "adapter" that converts the square drive speedo cable to it. It'll be a round pin with a blade, and will have one end that accepts a square speedo cable. (The cable housing nuts are the same.) I found one last year on eBay,but it sold before I had any money, and the guy didn't know where else to find one. Someone said, "Try the Ford Dealer-they used these for a hunnert years." Asked the oldest guy at their Parts counter, and he looked at me like I was from Mars. (sarc) I wanted to find out how much syn. gear oil I'd have to buy to fill everything without buying much/any extra, due to the ridiculous COST. They were manufactured with recycled dinosaurs as the specified lubricant, and using glorified vegetable oil is an exercise in financial and mechanical folly. The boxes will spring leaks in places you never knew existed, so buying that drum of lube might not be a bad idea if you're really determined to use the stuff. Jerry
