RayFischer Wrench Fetcher R Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 55 MD	Its been a while since I've posted on here. I have a 59 Apache with a 283. Original engine, tranny and clutch, although tranny and clutch were rebuilt about 5 years ago. Recently I have been hearing a squeaking noise whenever I engage the clutch.Curiously, the noise occurs as I am releasing the pedal, not when I push it down. I got it up on the lift with my lovely assistant in the cab and asked her to push the pedal so I could try to localize the noise. As best as I could tell it was coming from inside the clutch housing, inside where the clutch fork enters. Is this anything that is serious? Any suggestions on how to stop the squeak? tomctomc 'Bolter T Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 693 Central NH	is it squeaking with the engine off? if it is I would suspect the linkage might need some lube. a bad throwout bearing is more likely to present itself more readily when the mechanism is turning. 1956 3100

52Carl Renaissance Man 5 Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,280 Virginia	Check to see if the ball and socket of the clutch fork/bell housing are in good shape.They never seem to get greased. 1952 5-window - return to "as built" condition \| 1950 3100 with a 235 and a T-5 transmission
