Today at an Oreillys car show Joe pulled in quietly in his 1946 chevy 3/4 ton flatbed - no sound. He took the front half of a Prius including front frame and drivetrain, including radiator support - all --no sheet metal -- and connected it to the cab back frame of the 46. Original 46 front end sheet metal is back in place. Looking at the truck you cannot tell unless you know what a 5 lug Pruis steel black wheel looks like. He used the steering shaft of the Prius placing it thru the steering shaft tube of the 46. He transfered all the electric motor and gas engine, ecm wiring and elctronics of the Prius to the 46. The Prius battery pack is where the seat tank is, not sure where the gas tank was. His seat is a modified rear suburban seat -- now folds forward.

He did not use the 46 rear 3/4 ton brakes at this time as the electric motor provides initial braking then there is a front mechanical braking function ---- I am sure he will refine this. He cut the rear full floater axles so the pinion would not climb the ring gear and cause a vibration. Will run 70 mph - no problem.

Will get some pics at the Aug 13 car show.
