It simply routes voltage to the front and rear bulbs and puts them in series with a flasher. The ground happens at the body sheet metal downstream from the light filaments. If there is a ground wire in the switch harness for some unknown reason, it can be attached anywhere under the dash to the steering column or any other part of the body metal.

My 59 Burb has the same V-shaped dash panel, and it has turn indicators built in.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,094 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,094 | I have a 59 with after market turn indicator. The only wire that comes out of the steering column is for the horn. I believe it is dark brown.
It may be different on a 58 with factory turn signals don't know.
