Hi all, well I'm back this time with a Carter W1 question.
I picked up a 483s or 574s recently (421 stamped on the bottom and body) and noticed the tube at the top of the carb that sits at an angle at the air inlet is split about half way down in half. I think it might be called the air horn pipe but definitely don't quote me on that.
The carb appears to be in good shape except for that. Does that tube need to be repaired for the carb to operate properly? I looked around online and was unable to find a replacement tube. Is it repairable and can it be done at home or does it require specialty tools that a only a carb shop might have. It looks like it's pressed into the casting but I'm not sure.
Here's a picture for reference...it's the little tube at the top of the carb opening that is cracked on mine....
